"The
Departure" is Badi's debut album on Next Movement Records and it is

Badi was born into music.
With
parents from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds Badi was exposed
to music from around the globe. Both parents were musicians and exposed
Badi to the world of music from Jazz to Classical to Soul. From an
early age he sang in a gospel choir and later played trumpet. Badi
struck out on his own musically in his adolescence and began to explore
Hip-Hop and R&B. During the years he spent growing up in
Massachusetts and developing his craft Badí began to create
his
own unique style of hip hop. He completed his first mixtape in 2006 and
completed a regional tour promoting it with the Ground Breakers Band.

Badi's debut full
length release on Next Movement Records is an exploration of his
personal experience, his lyrics encompass his attempt to process
struggle, meaning, and spirituality. With industry veterans praising
his unique and powerful lyrics categorizing his style as "Lyrical
Liberation" and emphasizing "He is expanding the (Hip-Hop) game" his
debut is set to make its mark on the industry. The album which contains
14 tracks encompasses hard-core challenges to the Hip-Hop community
with tracks such as "Ain't Sayin Nothin", Introspective songs like
"Full Circle" where he relates his family's story, and soulful
explorations "In My Soul" and "Sister". The effort and love Badi and
his producers Marcus "Bellringer" Bell and Jon Rezin put into this
album are apparent from the first track through the last. Soon to begin
a summer tour as well as various shows at colleges and conferences
around the country... Badi is set to make his voice be heard. Prepare
yourself for the departure.

Hip
Hop. Badi has great flow and energy; most importantly he's talking
about things that matter. I love Badi's music; he's one of the first
artists I put on my iPod along with the Roots, Kweli, Common, Blue
Scholars, and Shirin (see below).

DAVARI
ABSTRAKT...difficult to
categorize, easy to listen to, and impossible to put down. This LA boy
knows music, and adds something from almost every genre into his songs.
Ranging in influences from Tchaikovsky to Timberlake, he lays down
tracks with an R&B flow while throwing in some great classical
guitar twists in songs like 'Collide' and 'Best Friend'. It's as if
he's the gateway drug introducing people from every different culture
to everything else. An amazingly talented musician, he creates
masterpieces one after the other. He just has some great songs on here,
and you need to check them out...now.

Shirin, a young singer song writer
aged 17, has seen her travelling to LA, California both in July and in
September through to December 2007 where she worked with Producers as
famous as Benny Cassette (himself an acclaimed Musician and Hip Hop
Artist) as well as KC Porter and Sebastian Jacome. As a rising star,
she has performed to audiences in excess of 25,000, at events such as
the Danson Festival in London during 2006 and 2007, and tripts to
Norway, Cyprus, and the US where she sang her brand of Pop and
R&B.
She has been seen on TV and heard in radio interviews, plus she made
her debut album in Barbados when she was just 14.
She has written and recoreded a song called "Nothing Can Change" in
collaboration with Producers Lewis and Pdouble of Nasty Boi
Productions. Shirin has dedicated it to International Women's Day 2008.
The idea for a song inspired by Tahirih Danesh, implies that on this
day (International Women's Day) and ongoing, women will come togehter
across the world to strive for equality. The verses describe the
hardship women go through and how their worth is lowered--despite being
the beareres and the only ones able to bring into the world the next
generation. The song tells people to open their eyes to what is
happening around the world and how to move forward. Nothing can stop
women now!
